Gym class 1968
This illustration was slightly inspired by my favourite scene of the movie If…. (1968). Back in summer me and my girlfriend had some kind of Lindsay Anderson / Malcolm McDowell obsession, watched every movie available from them and instantly loved this one (along with O’lucky Man).
The film is amazing but this particular scene is just breathtaking, I really like everything in it, the music, the b&w, the boy’s acting, that sense of freedom, of discovering something new, fresh, and somewhat liberating.
From the 3 boys I drew this is the one I like the most and I think it also works as an illustration on his own.
Esta ilustración está ligeramente basada en mi escena favorita de la película If… (1968). Este verano mi novia y yo hicimos una especie de ciclo Lindsay Anderson / Malcolm McDowell e intentamos ver todas las películas suyas que pudimos encontrar, pero esta fue la que mas nos gustó (junto con O’lucky Man).
La considero una muy buena película en muchos sentidos, pero esta escena en particular me encantó, la música, el uso del blanco y negro, la actuación del chico, el sentimiento de libertad, de estar descubriendo algo nuevo y liberador.
He subido también el chico que mas me gusta de los 3, que además creo que incluso funciona como una ilustración por sí sola.
